Yuppers...we're back and I wanna tell ya, I'm not happy about it. There are skid marks in the Maui parking lot we're I dug in my heels...lol We had a fabulous time relaxing, eating, swimming, rock climbing, touring, walking and just being.
Here are a few pics of the view from our condo, Molekei Island from our beach, Lavender Farm, Goat Farm, Lahaina, Sunrise and Sunset. We also saw lots of Mongoose which apparently is a huge problem. Gold sand beaches, black sand beaches and white sand beaches. Ate Hawaiian cuisine for dinner every day, enjoyed a Luau and basically had a blast....enjoy~

The Wild Wild West
I'm baaack! And needless to say fun was had by all...all three of us. Just me, Brenda and Phoebe also known as the Pheblet. Phoebe is Brenda's new 9 week puppy that came along for the ride. Here she is in the lap of luxury (Brenda's) while I drive to Scottsdale. This girls getaway was scheduled a long time ago before Phoebe came to be so we had to take her with us. And although the Hilton is a very gracious and accommodating Hotel, we had to smuggle her in, which was hysterical. Brenda hid her in a very big tote bag and the poor phoebs head stuck out half the time. Phoebe is a Klee Kai puppy and a very spoiled one too, but If I had a baby, I'd do the same exact spoiling...
Lots and lots of Cactus to greet us along the way and the gorgeous Red Rock of Sedona....
For those of you who are not familiar to Sedona, it is kinda known for it's Spiritual and Tranquil feel. Apparently is sits in just the right Vortex...don't ask, I don't get it either, but there IS something about this place that calms and soothes. We were surrounded by this...
and this...
We even ate at the Love Cafe and dined on a Abby Hoffman Breakfast Bagel...Phoebe ate eggs too!
We made our way to Prescott, or as the locals call is...Preskit and I absolutely loved it...more my style. The best part about the city is the old town and the square. It literally had that Mayberry feel to it. It is monsoon season so it rained and stopped and rained and stopped...all the time the sun shining through. We strolled in and out of Antique stores and ended up in an authentic bar/saloon from 1864. We also ran into some characters from that era too.
Me and Teddy Roosevelt in the town square
This is called Flash Street Theater. Who knew I had to leave Cali to see this...lol
All in all, we had a great time .Coming home we hit thunder and lighting storms, dust storms and 100+ degree temps, but us 3 gals stuck it out like Bedouins...lol My next adventure, Hawaii in 2 1/2 weeks....I'm excited...I'm Just Sayin'

Lucky Me
I'm back from Vegas and all I did was vegetate...vegetate in the pool, near the pool and in the room. We ventured out for dinner only and did not go anywhere near a casino...not even walk through one. My intent was to relax ...and I did.
Before I left I received a wonderful gift from my artsy fartsy friend Wendi. Seems I won a pair of earrings...any pair of my choice. I picked these cute little sand dollar earrings with little tiny feathers and baby blue iridescent pearl beads. They are more beautiful in person as my photo taking skills lack just that...skill.

Wendi is one of the most creative and talented people I know. Not only does she create stunning jewelry but, she makes the cutest and cuddly crocheted hats and caps around. You can take a gander at her stuff here and drop her a line or two...Thanks Wendi and if you all wanna know why I picked this particular pair... I'll tell ya ...this coming August we are going here...

...and I thought being that I have a blue bathing suit and I'm going to Hawaii where there are possibly tons of sand dollars...I picked those. Oh Hell, who am I kidding...I just liked them~

What's goin' on
I've been busy these last few couple of weeks with various tasks ....
Bought this hanging frame with crystal door nobs at a yard sale for $2. It was black and would have gone perfectly in my kitchen but I didn't have the wall space...hmmm, what to do
I left the back of it black because I didn't have enough paint for the whole thing and then I took out the thick vintage postal stamps pics.....and then painted it mellow yellow
Inserted some pretty green and yellow stock card of different designs and hung it in my patio and as long as Eric doesn't see all the holes I made trying to hang this...I'll be OK.
I had this gold resin shelf in my master bath for a while and been meaning to do something with it. I forgot to take a picture of it but anyways, I painted it white and connected it to my white wrought iron trellis in my dinning room. I used wire to keep it steady and only put someone light items on it. I can take it down whenever I want..
My daughter Meredith's birthday is coming up and so I kidnapped some squirrels for the day and had a secret photo shoot. I am making a photo collage for her and let me tell ya...It's hard herding squirrels and having them pose, keep all eyes open and stop talking all at the same time..
brotherly love
The infamous corn is now 3 feet tall.
and I broke down and planted tomatoes...just one plant...in a pot. We're gonna have a busy summer this year so I didn't want too much maintenance.
I've made arraignments to go outta town to visit some colleges...Yeah...I'm still in denial
here on the central California Coast
And the most important news in our household...yep! Raquel has her license
I want my life back, I want my little girl back, I want my car back
OH YEAH!...I got my summer reading assignment...I am to read Pride and Prejudice and Antigone...but I think I'll sit this one out...and read something that doesn't require a lot of brain cells...I'm on reserve at this point...I'm just sayin'

palm springs
There are shoe skid marks from the hotel room to our car as I am forced to come home. We are back and I'm not happy about it but as always, I'll adjust. Eric goes back to work on Monday so we still have a little time left. We had a very very relaxing time. Hey...did I say it was relaxing?
The only complaint Eric had was that the pool area didn't allow bottles so he had to drink corona in a can....big woop. Like I said...we swam and lounged, we ate and swam some more. When we got there the temp was 111, but with every passing day, the temps came down to a pleasant 98.
Really...it wasn't that bad. So, I'm back and everything is fine and my plans for today besides laundry is going to a friends yard sale. Here are some pics that passed the bunny guard. Pictures of us at the pool, eating and road runners...yes, you read that correct...they were everywhere ,including tons of jack rabbits. It was like being in a cartoon and waiting for the "Acme anvil" to fall on us...lol My favorite memory...sitting at sunset on the steps of the pool with my hubby, drink in hand and listening to the cicadas serenade us. Anyways, Enjoy~

It'sTime...
Yes!!! It's time, it's time for our Vacation baby. It's time for me to relax, probably poolside with some sort of tropical drink in hand and summon people at my every beck and call. It's time to pamper myself and perhaps schedule massages or a pedicure or whatever I want. It's time for me to sleep in as long as I want even if it means that my family has forsaken me and went somewhere without me. As long as there is a note...I'm good.
It's time for me to stay up as long as I want and switch channels on the TV being that there is probably 500 channels to choose from and not one person can stop me because I will have my own TV. It's time for me to not cook because we will either eat out everyday or someone else will decide they've had enough of Restaurant food and will brake down and whip something up....it won't be me. It's time for me to eat any damn thing I please anytime, anywhere and anyhow, because I can, plus I will spend most of my day time in a pool exercising, swimming and frolicking and a lot of my evening walking about. It's time for me to let lose a little and go shopping with the intent of buying me a little sump'in, sump'in, whether it's a cheesy tourist trap or a high end establishment. It's time to spend some quality time with my hubby and daughter and talk and talk and laugh and laugh some more. It's time to relax and reflect and to put things in perspective and enjoy each other and realize what we have because we are lucky to have it and even more lucky to have each other.
PS...I will be gone all week. I don't have a lap top so....brace yourself, I won't be blogging till I get back and I know it's hard to believe but I probably won't even turn my cell phone on either. I will have my notebook that I usually carry around so that I can jot down things that will jar my memory and when I get back, maybe, just maybe I will write about them or not depending on how exciting it is...or not...I'm hoping for not, as I am anticipating becoming one with a pool lounge chair....although, you can experience a lot from that point of view.....tootles ~
