Dear Hair,
We've been together for a very long time now and I've tried to treat you with the utmost respect. I always tried to take good care of you. I never teased you and I used minimal products to bring out the best in you. We've been through some hair raising situations but we always seemed to pull through. You were always around for me and I'll always be there for you. I admit I got a little vain and cocky there with myself and started experimenting with you, but it was always in your best interest. Just trying to fit in with the fashion, you know, move ahead.
And now... you turn on me. First I noticed you turning a little gray, little by little. It didn't bother me, I too get a little faded once in a while too. I know I neglected you once in a while, it wasn't intentional but I have other body parts that needed attention. OK, so after you recruited more of your buddies, I got the message... lite brown, dark brown, highlights, I thought I had it covered...but now, now you want to leave me. Oh don't think I haven't noticed. I'm not blind, I have eyes, that's one body part I can count on. I see subtle signs of you in my bathroom and everywhere else. Hair today gone tomorrow...is that the plan? I thought we would grow old together just you and me, enjoy our silver years together and make this permanent, but you have your mind set don't you? We're a team and we stick together..thick or thin, light or dark, in any weather. Please don't leave me, I swear, I'll start taking vitamins and whatever it takes to keep you.....you see, I've become attached and I can't let go.
sincerely,
bunny with the bad hair
You are too funny! This post is great! Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteHa-ha! This is great! I've had several haircuts in the past couple of months and my hair just isn't working for me right now. I hate bad hair days as it just makes me feel frumpy. I think I will let it grow for a while and then see how things go. Yes, the gray started coming a few years ago -- we try to hide it, but eventually, it stakes its claim and we realize we must gracefully and gratefully accept the change. :) Have a fantastic Friday! Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteoh the horror!...

My hair has not been cooperating either. This change of life thingy is for the birds.

Greatly appreciated.
Hence, my super short dykey haircut.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure but I think our hairs are in cahoots! I just had a talk with mine this morning as I washed what's left of it!
ReplyDeleteOMG Bunny, You are the talented writer! That was brilliant!!! I used to have a huge head of hair and I still have quite a bit, but less than before! Thanks for coming to visit my post and leaving such kind comments. It means a lot to me! Anita
