that puts away the knifes at night, as if the bad guys wouldn't find them?
that puts the timer on in the kitchen...and then walks away to another room?
who doesn't want to hear EVERY detail of my 16 years old life?
who scans the "Realtor" sections of the paper knowing full well I'm not moving?
or is it weird that I like to sleep alone?
or do other people put items in their cart to buy and then put them away at the last minute?
or am I the last person on the planet who still uses wax paper?
or does the "Burger King" king scare you too?
or do you think that Serena Williams looks like a man in tennis drag too?
that while sitting on the loo, I clean the floor...where ever I can reach AND while taking a shower, clean the tile?
or do other people pick out the longest lines just to people watch?
or am I the only 54 year old still having a period?
that I'm burnt out on going out to dinner, but also burnt out on cooking?
that I'm a chronic radio station turner?

Welcome to my Tea
Come on in and make yourself comfortable ~
either in the kitchen while we enjoy the sunshine streaming in from the windows

or the comfy couch in the living room

let's add a bit of whimsy with this red polka dot Tea Set

A little nosh? What's a soothing warm beverage
without a little something sweet. How about a nice
array of "Pan Dulce" to curb your sweet tooth? Go
ahead...try one!
Nothing like a little sweetness, some good company and some motherly advise...
and that Tea cup of your dreams
let's do this again....real soon. I'm just sayin'

Two make overs...a cow and a tree
You all know that Raquel has a cute little heifer by the name of Rogue...well, she's still cute but weighting in at 1,085lb is beyond little. Being that she is mostly black, her fur has a tendency to turn reddish and this was not acceptable according to my daughter. So after asking around if dying livestock is doable and frown upon, the consensuses is, yes is very much doable and no, people, especially ones who compete with they're animal do it all the time, you just can't do it while in the competition, you have to do it a few days before. So, Raquel decided to give her a dye test to see, A, if it would work and B, for how long. Yes it worked beautifully and it only lasted about 2 and a half weeks.
The beautification of a heifer...
She's moo tiful
Time to mosey on back home with my new look
Alright, time for my "I'm too lazy to put away and decorate every occasion" tree.
I put huge purple and pink Gerber daisies and smaller white daisies on it.
purple accents around.
I think when summer comes around I just might add a bug or two. Maybe some dragon flys, lady bugs and bees..who knows? Everyone have a great springy day~

The Very Last Drop
First I'd like to say Thank you to Martha and Terri for inviting me to tea once again as they are the perfect hostesses and they truly know how to set out a lovely tea
Unfortunately, this just might be my last Tea Cup Tuesday entry, being that this is my last tea set that I own. When we moved here to this city I knew nothing about it, the shops, the people, the community and the vibe, so, I tooled around in the bunmobile and lost myself in this great city of mine and came upon a little out of the way gift store. My hubby and I had just tore apart the dining room and gave it a quick revamp. We stripped off the wild psychedelic orange and yellow daisy wall paper and down came the heavy dark gold drapes. We painted this room a very faint green and an even fainter pinkish color and at the time I was really into Ivy, actually, I still love Ivy, but back then I accessorize with an Ivy motif. Having said that...back at this little shop of decorative items, I came across this very cute Tea Set. It's off white with green Ivy all through the 2 tea cups, 2 saucers, tea pot with lid, creamer with lid, sugar with lid and tray.
It's a miniature Tea Set.
What's that you say? That's not Ivy? Well, It doesn't take a house to fall on me, as it took about 10 years for me notice that it's NOT an Ivy pattern, but a CLOVER pattern. As I said, I was kinda Ivy obsessed and all I could do at the time was focus on Ivy and I was either delusional or in denial or just couldn't see, but it is what it is and I still love it.
What's that you say? Where's the other saucer? I didn't know at the time of this photo, as I couldn't find it. I looked high and low and in the end I thought, "Oh Well" and of course when I was finished taking pics, up loading them into the computer and put the camera away, I found it....the sugar container was sitting on it plain as day. I'm thinkin' this is a magical Tea Set where saucers and Ivy patterns appear or disappear.
In any case, I'm very sad that I don't have more tea cups to share with you all as I've enjoyed each and everyone that has joined in on the fun. I suspect that through my travels in and around estate sales and yard sales, I will be on the look out for that perfect tea cup...HEY! I have an idea, why don't I bring the scones next time...I'm just sayin'

Temptation, Rejuvenation, Incorporating and Smelling Good
I really didn't mean too. My plan was to mind my own business and go about my merry way...but the temptation was too strong. I see a sign that says "Estate Sale" and my car automatically goes into "E"...and magically takes me there. I can go for months and not hit one and then...WHAM! I can't stop and I just can't pass it up.
My latest finds ~ A huge baskets that I keep my currant and future project odds and ends in~
A black wrought Iron plant stand that I haven't decided to keep black or paint and a white plaster angel sconce...perfect for my garden~
A couple of white hanging planters...I already have the chain~
...and the best for last....some old tile. Big squares, little squares in burnt umber and blue floral pattern....my very creative blogger friend Missy, gave me the idea for those trays I purchased a couple of weeks ago. Now I have to figure out how to attach tile to wood. All this my friends.. 3 stinkin' dollars.
I try to keep myself busy and for whatever reason, lately I've been a whirlwind of creative craftyness. Some of which I've had for a while and just couldn't get to...until now~
I've had this stenciled window pane on my front porch and it was looking a little faded, so I touched it up a bit. I love morning glories ~
Eric had cut these large flowers for me years ago (how embarrassing) and I came upon them just recently in my craft storage...plain, just waiting to be painted. I painted them with whatever bright colors I had and placed them on a shelf also on my front porch~
This little cart has been sitting in my back yard for roughly 16 years. Brenda gave it to me and originally it just had a piece of wood holding plants and because of my neglect (how embarrassing again)...everything had rotted. I bit the bullet and threw everything away...cleaned it up a bit and painted it white. Eric cut a piece of plywood to fit, I covered it with a little delicate blue floral contact paper, slapped a $1 placemat on it along with a plant and she's brand new again~
Also in my craft storage was this paint by numbers pic that Raquel had painted a few years back. I liked it so much I saved it. My den is kinda Southwestern/Mexican vintage, so I bought a $1 wood framed mirror, took the mirror out, painted the frame Turquoise and put the cowboy in...Raquel was thrilled...."finally! Mom"
My very good friend Marsha's daughter Candice is getting married in a couple of weeks. I made a shadow box using her invitation. I just added a few little pink flowers. This frame was bought at a yard sale and I painted it in a distress greenish color. Why are shadow boxes so expensive?
Just a couple of little items that I purchased at previous yard sales. Remember this little picture of a flower within another frame? I'm loving this little medallion attached to it.
...And this iridescent red vase goes very well in my monochromatic living room...I love splashes of red
...and making little Sachets from my lavender...it smells sooo good
There is more but this post is long enough. Think I'll save it for future posts. So yes, I've been busy and loving every minute of it. Everyone have a wonderful day...and keep busy!

Silver Tea Cup Tuesday
I have these 3 tea cups from a very long time ago...so long, I don't remember how I came into possession of them. But what I do remember is that I had 4 and I broke one which is why I only have 3. I gave a baby shower with a "Tea" theme and I used them for dips and what nots. No saucers, just cups.
They are stark white with pink and gray delicate roses and leaves with just a hint of pale yellow. One one side of the cup, the rose is large...the other side a smaller one. The rim and handle have a silver or platinum edge. On the bottom is written "Platinum Rose" "fine China" and that's it.
I've mixed them here with various silvery items. My pewter napkins rings, retro aluminum serving tray and very vintage and tarnished silverware...just how I like it.
Sometimes silver is more appealing to the eye than gold and I'm loving all the different textures
Thank you Martha and Terri for hosting this amazing Tea Party. I've learned so much. I have one more tea entry for next time and that'll be it for me...unless you want to start something new...like "Polka Dot" Wednesday...then we'll talk. Drink up everyone! Don't forget your pinkie must be up in the air

Open Letter

Dear Mr. I don't have a clue how to deal with babies,
Yeah, I'm talking to you. You didn't notice me today at the market because you we're too busy critiquing, criticizing and threatening your infant son. You didn't even know I was behind you in the card aisle making googly faces at him when you started your rant. I would suspect you son is about 1 year or there about, so I know he has a world of knowledge already and I'm gonna estimate your age at about ....hmmmm, 10, so you have 9 times the knowledge he has.
When you tell your infant son to stop dropping his toy and call him a bad boy and threaten him by telling him your not going to take him to the birthday party today, it took all my being to not slap you into next week. Did you not see the "Parenting" magazine sitting there right next to the cards or maybe I should have slipped it into your cart while you were busy berating your baby. And no, you didn't stop there, you started critiquing his little shoes and warning him to keep them on or 'you swear", he's not going later today. At this point, I'm thinking he doesn't know any better, why?...his cognitive thinking isn't developmentally mature and he's used to this. I'm sure you act like this at home, I mean, why would you save this performance for the public...right?...your 15 minutes of fame. You want recognition, perhaps you can start with a "How not to treat a baby" educational flick.
Even though I have a little puny AA in Childhood Development, any normal person would know that your son is incapable of holding on to a toy while being pushed in a cart. It's called "fine motor skills"..unlike your very well developed "motor mouth" skills, he can't help it...he's not at that developmental stage yet...but what does he know?...he probably loves you all the same. Until later, when your parenting skills boomerangs back at you and he turns around and tells you to F off. That would be a proud moment if you ask me...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Which reminds me...I kinda followed you around a little to make sure you didn't do anything REALLY stupid, but when you park your cart near the apples...your son is going to reach for them. What did you expect...a well adjusted, well behaved controlled infant...like his father?
So in conclusion, I hope you wife or partner screams at you in Latin when you get home today, so that you don't understand a word she's saying and threatens to keep you from partying tonight.
Sincerely,
bunny, the baby saver
PS. Just thought you'd like to know that constantly bending over and picking things up is a good way to lose weight so that in the future you can play with your son.....I'm just sayin"
