It's Rednesday!!

Again with the polka dots. I collect fireking polka dot kitchen ware. In the past it was pretty reasonably priced, but since Martha Stewart came on the scene with her collection, the price has doubled. The red and white is my favorite but I also enjoy the black and white.

I love this little glass with the piano player. Wish I had a whole set~

Sorry for the flash and bad angle, but this picture in my Kitchen is my favorite piece of Black American. First of all, the little girl is wearing a red and white polka dot dress and I just love the composition, but most importantly this little girl looks just like me when I was this age. Eric and I were in a antique store in Santa Barbara years ago and saw this pic....whereupon he turned to me and said, "look it's little bunny"...I just had to have it.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Rednesday...I am~

  1. Bunny dearest, it is a splendid day, indeed, RED OR NOT! I am enjoying the color turquoise these days and blending it in with white. What bliss! But your reds are luscious like the red cherries I have been enjoying all summer. Have a great day! WOOWOOWW...one of my harp strings just broke and the sound is AWFUL! I jumped out of my seat here......Anita

  4. That pic is, I think, an image from cereal advertising..I have a reproduction tin sign of a little girl looking in a window, next to a bin with the same image of a black chef..I
think the same artist, same technique, as you see the back of the child..I'm gonna go take a pic of it...

  8. I like that polka dot fireking-- Are red and black the only colors produced? I'd love to find yellow or aqua.

    Happy Rednesday!

  9. I have 2 tulip bowls in the same shape , but love the red dots. Haven't been able to afford one of those yet, and they are so hard to find. Also love the glass-really cute! I love any vintage kitchen stuff, too.

  10. I love Fire King and your bowls are just too cool but I like all things red and with polka dots. I have a few pieces of Fire King jadite and, yes, Martha helped drive up the prices. Here on the West Coast, they have come down a little, but not much. I collect many kitchen items from the 1940 and 50s, too, such fun stuff!

  19. Hi Bunny.
Isn't antiquing a blast. Often the fun is just in going out and making a day of it, even if you don't always find something to take home. But once in a while, when you find a real treasure, especially something you've always wanted, life is really good.

P.S., I love the bunny in your banner.
