The Very Last Drop

First I'd like to say Thank you to Martha and Terri for inviting me to tea once again as they are the perfect hostesses and they truly know how to set out a lovely tea

Unfortunately, this just might be my last Tea Cup Tuesday entry, being that this is my last tea set that I own. When we moved here to this city I knew nothing about it, the shops, the people, the community and the vibe, so, I tooled around in the bunmobile and lost myself in this great city of mine and came upon a little out of the way gift store. My hubby and I had just tore apart the dining room and gave it a quick revamp. We stripped off the wild psychedelic orange and yellow daisy wall paper and down came the heavy dark gold drapes. We painted this room a very faint green and an even fainter pinkish color and at the time I was really into Ivy, actually, I still love Ivy, but back then I accessorize with an Ivy motif. Having said that...back at this little shop of decorative items, I came across this very cute Tea Set. It's off white with green Ivy all through the 2 tea cups, 2 saucers, tea pot with lid, creamer with lid, sugar with lid and tray.

It's a miniature Tea Set.

What's that you say? That's not Ivy? Well, It doesn't take a house to fall on me, as it took about 10 years for me notice that it's NOT an Ivy pattern, but a CLOVER pattern. As I said, I was kinda Ivy obsessed and all I could do at the time was focus on Ivy and I was either delusional or in denial or just couldn't see, but it is what it is and I still love it.

What's that you say? Where's the other saucer? I didn't know at the time of this photo, as I couldn't find it. I looked high and low and in the end I thought, "Oh Well" and of course when I was finished taking pics, up loading them into the computer and put the camera away, I found it....the sugar container was sitting on it plain as day. I'm thinkin' this is a magical Tea Set where saucers and Ivy patterns appear or disappear.

In any case, I'm very sad that I don't have more tea cups to share with you all as I've enjoyed each and everyone that has joined in on the fun. I suspect that through my travels in and around estate sales and yard sales, I will be on the look out for that perfect tea cup...HEY! I have an idea, why don't I bring the scones next time...I'm just sayin'

  7. What a sweet little set you have. I should give some thought into buying a cute little child's tea set. I have a few sweet teddy bears, and how cute would it be to display them together having tea :) Thanks so much for stopping by my blog; I love meeting new people here in blogland! I've just signed on as your newest follower, and I look forward to visiting with you again. Happy Teacup Tuesday, warmest, Brenda

  8. Love that little teaset. I can just see you going crazy with the ivy -- here there and everywhere! I am sure you can go find some colorful, cheery teacups at your nearest thrifting haunt. In fact, you don't even have to buy them, just take pictures. Ha! Thanks for stopping by today. And yes, Jingles does make a funny little sound when she sees birds. It's like a slow motion machine gun sound. She knows now when I say in a certain tone of voice "Where's the birds, Jingles, go get 'em" that there are little winged friends just waiting for her on the other side of the window. Hope you are having a great day! :) Tammy

  16. I love that clover pattern. It is beautiful. I'm also loving that tray(?) in the back ground also..and loving the fabric underneath it. I got to thinking about this comment from another one you left last week..how you and I both NOT only look at the pic that we are talking about but everything else..Oh ya,,you mentioned about my 'tablecloth' (chenille bedspread)...

I want to also thank you for stopping by today. ((hugs))It really touched my heart.

I love your profile pic and when I saw it I thought,'yep, she is definitely someone I would hang with'...

I don't know about you, but sometimes I see someone or see a picture and think, 'ya, I could be friends with her'..than again I see someone or their pic and think...ummm...well lol...'flip the bird' like Asher in the pic,,LOL

  18. Hey Bunny! Once again you have given me a chuckle with your clover v. ivy story. Sweet little misinformed tea set nonetheless. Love your new blog design and your profile photo! And thank you so much for the giveaway sidebar plug!!! ~ Angela

  22. What a sweet tea set, and ivy-clover, it's all good and pretty. I think it is funny you found the saucer right under the sugar bowl. I do that kind of thing all the time, even before I got old enough for anybody to question my memory.

  23. It's a beautiful ivy/clover tea set! I love ivy also ~ it always reminds me of my grandmother, who had a wonderful set of ivy dishes. She had every dish, cup, serving piece, seemed like enough for at least 12 people to eat for a long time! Wish I had it today. She had ivy patterns all over her kitchen too. It would have been a bit much for most people, but I loved it!

  31. What a pity you are not joining anymore. Is there not a way of showing off other things that go along with drinking a cup of tea? Teaspoons? Sugar bowls, bonbons? together with your lovely clover china? Is it not a challenge to do with what you have?
As a new blogger this tea partying is still new to me, so maybe this is an ignorant comment ;-))
Thank you for having tea with me with my Rosenthal Maria Weiss teacups.
    Have a happy day!

Funny how our taste change through the years. Wonder what style or craze we will have to have next?
